Richard is an entrepreneur with 30 years of experience in marketing, brand development and retail insight.

He started his career with 15 years in advertising and integrated creative agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi and WPP at board level. During this time he worked with many clients including Dixons Stores Group, Nikon, Alfa Romeo and Electrolux.

In the early days of the internet he spent 2 years as Director of Marketing in the late 90’s in a team that took a dotcom idea to market (raising £7.5M), building the biggest kids trading site in the UK before the bubble burst, funding dried up and we all went back to our day jobs!

In 2002 he co-founded Retail in Action - a specialist retail and shopper marketing research and intelligence business, serving (and negotiating with) some of the world’s biggest and most famous brands. Recently rebranded as The Shopper Experience Company, the business helps retailers, brand owners and their creative agencies to measure and evaluate retail-marketing activity. Clients they work with include: Chanel, Tesco, Nikon, Sony, Vue Cinemas, Vision Express, Aldi and Burger King.
He is one of the founders of Flavour Feed – a global food trends resource for the food and drink industry and he makes sheep! Check out

Richard is married with 3 children, is a passionate foodie, a self-trained butcher, pilot, sailor, golfer & skier as well as an negotiator and lead tutor at Scotwork.
